White: Domaine Astruc 2007
Domaine Astruc is located in the Languedoc, 23 kms southwest of the city of Carcassonne. The vineyard was created in 1862 by Jean Astruc, a coachman of Hackney carriage in Bourigeole's castel. In 2003 Jean-Claude and Michel Mas bought the winery and introduced new techniques of vinification such as grape destemming, pneumatic pressing and filtration of the must and lees, etc.
The Domaine Astruc is a 100% Viognier, it has a light pale color. It is intense with aromas of fresh fruits: apricot, white peach, pear and honey. The mouth feel is very rich and aromatic with a long lasting finish. It is a wine to enjoy with shell-fish, seafood or on its own.
