The descriptions found below are the ones our members will find with their monthly shipment of two bottles of fine wine from the French Wine Club. Red: Château Tour D'Auron Château Tour D'Auron belongs to Xavier and Gerard Milhade. Their vineyard is located near the village of Fronsac, on the border of the famous Pomerol. The brothers produce what we would call a "Petit Château" in the Bordeaux area, in comparison to the Cru Classés and Cru Bourgeois. This 2007 vintage is made of 100% Merlot. It shows a deep garnet color. The nose hints at licorice and leather. It is an elegant wine, round on the palate, with a soft finish. It has a good aging potential of 5 to 7 years. White: La Baronne Vigne Combe Donzelle 2007 La Baronne is produced by the Ligneres Family estate. It is located in the shadow of the Montagne d'Alaric, 30 miles from the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc between Narbonne and Carcassonne. It is a blend of two grapes: 40% Vermentino (also called Rolle), and 60% Grenache. These two grapes give a wine of very light, silver yellow color. The aroma is of a light orange rind scented with some minerality. The taste is all about focused citrus structure and tartness: it's bright and crisp with forward character.
